Max & Louie’s: The 411
The idea of Max & Louie’s was first born in 2020. We had always toyed around with the idea of naming a business after our two beloved dogs: 16-year-old (at that time) Max, a cairn terrier mix with an adventurous spirit and insatiable appetite; and Louie, a we-always-forget-how old he is (10? 11? 12?) shy rat terrier mix whose shelter name was “Romeo” since he wants to cuddle and give you kisses all day. Fun fact: He was named after Jasson’s dad’s 70’s band, Louie and the Lovers.
Finding the Perfect Spot
The first iteration – Max & Louie’s Fill Station – played into the original possible location’s history. After some reflection, we decided to table the concept. A second location emerged in 2021 in the heart of downtown Boise, but that didn’t seem quite right either. Then finally, the perfect location presented itself! They say third time’s the charm, right?
Partnering in the Heart of Garden City
We had previously explored the possibility of opening a café in Garden City, and loved visiting our good friend, Art, at WEPA at the Lofts at 35th & Clay. The beautiful little corner their teams created in the heart of the area’s revival – and so close to the Greenbelt! – was perfect and we jumped at the opportunity to partner with their teams to finally bring Max & Louie’s to life!

At Max & Louie’s, we combine high-quality ingredients with a relaxed, no-fuss atmosphere. Our menu features scratch-made classics, rotating specials, and signature items, made for everyone—including vegans and those who are gluten-free. You can take your time with a leisurely meal or grab a quick bite on the go. Fresh, approachable food made to fit your day, your way.
Building Memories, One Meal at a Time
Above all, we hope to make Max & Louie’s a neighborhood spot where Garden City and Boise West End residents come to fuel their hearts by helping them build memories with their family and friends and fill their bellies with our delicious seasonal food. All while having a little fun! After all, that’s what Max & Louie are all about. ♥
